| Have you ever sat in your living room on a drab and dreary day, sipping a bottle of your favourite wine, wishing you could actually visit the winery? Well, Nautilus has organised the next best thing!
Loyal consumers, trade customers and busy journalists can now all easily see how Nautilus wine is made and ‘get inside’ a winery during vintage by logging onto u-tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnWvbse25N4
The film shows the beautiful Nautilus vineyards and explains how the grapes are grown, and the influence of the different sub-regional terroirs within Marlborough. It then follows them through to the winery and explains the process of winemaking at Nautilus.
“We have a large number of visitors to the winery every year” says marketing manager Katy Ironside. “It is great to see them get as excited as we do about the wines when they can actually get hands on and see the care and attention that goes into creating our award-winning wines. But not everyone can make it to visit us here in Marlborough. This allows us to take the winery to them in the comfort of their own homes.”
“People think of winemaking as a very traditional industry” says Clive Jones, winemaker, “and in many ways we do respect the care and attention to detail that has been developed over centuries. However it is great to embrace the advances in technology that help us to interact with our customers. It’s the best of both worlds. Now all our customers whether they are in London or Labrador, Melbourne or Manhattan, can see what we are doing and understand how the wine that they are drinking is made.”
The footage was shot by local movie producer, Paul Davis of Bytesize Productions.
