Bay of Plenty

Wine Regions

Bay of Plenty has fewer wineries than any other region. Hence it is no surprise that the region is more famous for its beaches, than its wines. However, as is so common with the wine industry in New Zealand, small is beautiful. Visitors to the region have several very high quality wineries experiences to choice from.

Production area 2004: 151 hectares (includes Waikato)
Principal Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc
